Sleep expert Kene Vernik leads sleep training for UD Las Palmas with support from innovative SleepAngel pillows

UD Las Palmas recently organised an exclusive SleepAngel sleep training session led by sleep expert Kene Vernik. The training focused on the importance of quality sleep for athletic performance and recovery.

To enhance the players’ sleep environment, the session was supported by the innovative SleepAngel pillows, known for their advanced filter technology that promotes a cleaner and healthier sleep space.

Kene Vernik emphasized the impact of proper sleep on athletes, stating, “Quality sleep is a game-changer for athletes. It’s not just about the hours you sleep, but the environment in which you rest. By using SleepAngel pillows, players can improve their sleep hygiene, leading to better recovery and performance.”

Lyane Lind, R&D Director of SleepAngel, added, “Our pillows are designed to create a barrier against allergens, bacteria, and viruses, providing a healthier sleep surface. We’re excited to support UD Las Palmas in optimizing their rest and recovery through our innovative products.”

This initiative aims to optimize the players’ rest and overall well-being, contributing to their peak performance on the field.

SleepAngel’s breakthrough success in sports

Estonian sleep product company SleepAngel has been making waves in the European sports market for several years now. Recently, SleepAngel supplied pillows to the entire squad of the Canary Islands-based UD Las Palmas football club. Additionally, for many years, SleepAngel has been the pillow provider for the professional cycling team Movistar, and its products are also trusted by several elite Estonian athletes.

According to Lyane Lind, UD Las Palmas discovered SleepAngel pillows through a recommendation from Movistar, whose sports scientist praised the pillow’s qualities. Given that the UD Las Palmas squad travels frequently due to LaLiga’s intense schedule, the need for top-quality, personalized pillows becomes crucial. With SleepAngel pillows, the players can rest more effectively, even while traveling, ensuring that every small detail – including sleep – is optimized.

In addition to the pillows, the football club also requested a sleep training session, which was conducted in Spain by sleep expert Kene Vernik. This was the first time the Estonian company was asked to deliver a sleep lecture alongside their product supply. Sleep training has become increasingly important in elite sports, as athletes now recognize that recovery and rest are just as critical as diet and physical training.

The move into the sports market wasn’t initially a planned strategy for SleepAngel. Their success started by chance when a sports scientist from Glasgow Celtic recommended SleepAngel pillows to the team. Over time, the transition into the sports world became more natural, especially due to their products’ medical background. SleepAngel pillows are registered medical devices, designed to prevent infections and ensure a cleaner, safer sleep environment. This has become a significant selling point for sports scientists and medical professionals working with athletes.

Lyane Lind explained, “When working with athletes, it’s essential that they can test the pillows and select the one that suits them best. Every athlete has personal sleep preferences – some prefer firm pillows, others prefer softer, and height variations are also important. We typically offer six different pillow options for testing, and the athletes choose the one that feels most comfortable.”

SleepAngel’s filter technology makes their pillows unique, ensuring that the pillow’s interior remains uncontaminated, requiring only surface cleaning. This innovative feature is especially appreciated in sports environments where cleanliness and ease of maintenance are crucial.

SleepAngel is a choice of many elite sportspeople and teams, including the Movistar Team, Erik Sviatchenko (Houston Dynamo, USA), Christie Harrison-Murray (Birmingham City), FC Pärnu Vaprus, Mihkel Räim (Ferei Quick-Panda Podium Mongolia Team), and others.
